More Blog Candy!

Hello from Seattle = ) !!! We're here visiting family for a few days (I LOVE Seattle!), so this will be my last post until early next week. But, I was thinking, since I can't stamp for a few days, why not give away a little BLOG CANDY!!!You probably recongnize this butterfly image from the Sale-a-bration set, Merci. I absolutely love this set! If I was stranded on a desert island and could only have 5 sets with me (forget the food...give me stamps!),this would be one of them! Now that SAB is over, this set is no longer available (gasp!)...BUT, I just happen to have an extra set, and I want to give it away to one lucky winner!
Here's what's included in the blog candy~
1) One die-cut, unmouted Merci Stamp set
2) One 3 x 3 butterfly notecard (pictured above)
3) Enough pre-cut/pre-scored cardstock to make five 3 x 3" notecards
4) 3 yards of coordinating ribbon (not pictured)

More details coming up on how you can win....at the end of today's post! But first, I mentioned that Merci set was my favorite, and a big reason for that is because I love to color, especially with markers! Coloring doesn't have to be difficult or complicated. Sometimes just a few strokes of color is all you need. SU Markers are a great way to add color & shading to your projects. For the butterfly card above, I used markers in Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery & Old Olive. Two of those colors were the same as the cardstock and the other two were a deeper shade of those colors.

Here are a couple of photos that show how I used the fat/paintbrush end of the Regal Rose marker to outline the wings:
...And the fat/paintbrush end of the Pretty in Pink marker to fill in the rest of the wing. I use light, circular strokes, and sort of "paint" the color on. I went right over the top of the Regal Rose outline, to blend the edges. I used the skinny end of the Old Olive Marker to outline the body of the butterfly, then the fat end of the Celery marker to fill in the body and trace over the antennas (sorry...I didn't take photos of those steps, but you can see those details in the first photo). Really simple....Really quick. And for the finishing touch, I used the 2-way glue pen to hi-light a few spots on the wings then dusted them with Dazzling Diamonds glitter! The Cardstock is Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. I used the Ticket Corner punch on the image layers.

My stamping time has been very limited these past few weeks... but I am so excited....I should be back to my regular stamping (yay!) and posting (yay!) routine next week!!! In the meanwhile....If you'd like to be in the drawing for the blog candy, just leave me a comment under this post, telling me what you've been up to with stamping ~ Do you have a favorite stamp set, technique or tool?? I'd love to hear about it! I'll pick a random winner on Monday morning....one entry per person please = ) !!!

Since I find myself in Seattle....I'm going to make a trip over to A-muse Rubber Stamps tomorrow and check it out! I hear it's a great shop!! Hey, maybe they'll have paper & ink out to play with...that would be so awesome!!!!!

Happy Stamping!

I haven't stamped in a week due to having a house full of sick kids. The last thing I stamped were some Easter treats for a friend of mine's children.
Thanks for the blog candy chance! I've loved all of the cards you've made with that set!

Have fun - Seattle really is a great city. I'd have to say that I've been participating in a lot more challenges (both on SCS and on blogs) and it's been fun to try new things and get "stretched." And unfortunately, I've been using the retired "Hope for Comfort" set a lot these past few weeks.

Seattle? OOoh, one of my favorite places! Can I come? Please? Have a great time!

I've been trying Copics, and loving them, tho I'm not a 'color-it' kinda girl-- or haven't been (wink). Can't wait for my Nestabilities to arrive...

Also in love with the SAB Friendship Blooms AND the Always set (from the main catalog). Soon I'll be trying monograms using Lovely Letters and Frames with a Flourish; and then it's on to Kind Thoughts.... Waaaay too much to do! :-)

I'd love Merci....

I still consider myself a rookie with stamping. I love to surf the internet checking out all the beautiful artwork and getting ideas. You're in my favorites for inspiration. I just purchased some new sentiments stamps from Stampendous and am making cards. I've been eyeing Bella's but haven't bought my first one yet. I just can't decide which.

Thanks for all your inspiration!

I have stamped for years, and yet really haven't stamped in years. Does that make sense? I stamp every month and collect items (at workshops) that I bring home and don't use. I am slowly breaking that pattern. Why the heck do I keep buying if I am not going to use it. Sooo... my goal is to stamp more, buy less. My favorite tool HAS to be the scor pal. What a blessing it has been to me.

Thanks for the opportunity to win the Merci set. It is one I was not able to get this year.

Couldn't live without it. I wish I could say I love the Copics, but I'm still a bit intimidated by them. Thanks for offering such a fun stamp set! It is funny that you traveled to WA from OR this week and I just got back from my trip to OR from WA last night:) We had trouble getting out of Lincoln City because the highways were closed due to snow and accidents. We had so much fun on the Oregon coast in spite of bad weather. Hope you had fun in Seattle:)

Have fun in Seattle. I am loving my Stampin' Pastels again after not using them for several years.
Thanks for the chance to win yummy candy.

I'm currently working on my Christmas cards--adorable embossed alligators w/Santa hats. I absolutely love stickles & the SU scallop punch. I don't know what I would do w/o them! Thanks for the chance to win the Merci set. I got the Friendship Blooms set this SAB.

Well, I've been on a trip too so I am just now getting around to checking your blog! I would have to say that my favorite stamp set is the Pun Fun set by SU!, my favorite technique is embossing, and my favorite tools are my punches! :D Thanks so much for the blog candy and I hope you had an incredible trip!

I have just been making some cards with some Magnolia stamps for my sister (who bought them for me- I am making her cards as a thank you!). I did not earn this set for sale a bration and I am seeing so much fun/creative stuff with it that I am wondering if I should have! As for a favorite set- I am really enjoying Thoughts of Father and Time Well spent! And I have to add BLING to anything it goes with! Heidi

I went to a stamping birthday party and made some cards for a card exchange at SCS.

You are most generous to offer this wonderful blog candy!

I have been doing a lot of stamping using the bleaching technique. I like how you can use such soft, light , spring colors on a darker background.

I have been stamping away on my 2008 Christmas cards. This year I am making a minimum of 10 a month so I am not frazzled when the holidays finally arrive! ~
